Our Global IT Service Desk supports all Sandvik users with IT issues, serving as the first contact for any IT-related concerns. We're now looking to strengthen our leadership team with a Competence Manager – a crucial role in establishing the foundations and shaping the future of our Service Desk.
About the job
In this position, you lead the personnel in our Global Service Desk Sweden. Our Service Desk agents work in shifts to provide 24/7/365 support for all Sandvik users. You ensure that the team has the capacity and skillset required through coaching, development and follow-up of personnel. The job includes close collaboration with the leadership team who consists of Product Area Manager, Solution Engineers and Coordinators. You manage workforce and competence planning, empowering and growing personnel to enhance self-management.
Also included in the job:
Assess team health to ensure the right prerequisites for success.
Enable skills development in the team and support personnel during changes.
Act as a representative for the employer, following Sandvik Group HR policies and rules.

The location for this job is Sandviken, where the whole IT Service Desk Sweden team is located.
About you
We’re looking for someone with experience in a similar role, preferably within a global organization. You have leadership experience, a proven track record in people management and financial management skills. As we’re a global organization, fluency in English and Swedish, both written and verbal, is required.
In addition to your background, we’re just as passionate about your personality – characterized by your structured way of working and ability to prioritize to ensure efficient operations. You’re flexible and skilled in managing diverse shift schedules. With an extroverted mindset and a genuine curiosity about people, you’re driven by developing and working with others. Add to this a passion for problem-solving and you have a great opportunity to succeed in this role.
